Can sex stop your period?

I'm new and I don't know how to work this forum thing so I hope this posts and gets read. I had protected sex the day before my period was supposed to start... and if I might add it wasn't even good..and now my period is over a week late... My periods only last 3 days and I have my cramps the week before but the blood never came and I periodically have cramps but no spotting and only a little discharge. I only lost my virginity 9 months ago and I don't know how to react to this. If I can get any advice or help I would sincerely appreciate it,

From the sounds of things, I'm assuming you are young and prone to irregular periods. Having sex won't stop your period outright, but depending on what your hormone cycles are up to, your period can behave in all sorts of ways including ovulating at irregular intervals and kipping periods. I don't think you should be freaking out over this.

I've had sex do all kinds of weird things like delay it or jump start it a week early or immediately after sex. In fact, the first time I had sex I bled a little from the intercourse and it turned gradually into a week-long flow of a period haha So I don't think you should be worried. Especially if you were protected.

Yeah I am kinda young, 17, and I never really had irregular periods but I thankyou both for the advice and reassurance. My period still hasn't come but I am not as worried as I was at first thanku thanku thanku (:
