So a month ago this past week (week we're on, not the coming week) I stopped taking my birth control pill since I was dealing with some major dizzy issues. I went to the doctor and she prescribed me a new pill which my mom and I just got filled and I was due to take it the sunday after my period. Well, I did the math and I was supposed to be on my period this week.

With the pill I was on it was actually causing my periods to be extremely short, meaning starting on Thursday or Friday and then ending Sunday. Needless to say, it's Saturday and it's not here. After getting off the pill I went out and bought some condoms. We've used one every time except for once and we only did it for a minute or two (He's kind of sex crazed and just wanted to feel it for a sec, yea probably bad idea). Should I maybe wait another week and see what happens or what should I do? Is this normal for your period to be a little off track after stopping a birth control pill?

I don't want to go into complete panic mode but even him telling me it'll come isn't helping. I know it was a completely stupid idea to let him do that even for just a minute but I'm just unsure if this is just my body reacting to not being on my pills or what. Any ideas? Thanks

Have a look at other posts on this forum, here or in the "Birth Control" section... so many women have had this same paranoid feeling. It's completely normal for a period to go out of whack for a while when starting, stopping, or switching hormonal birth controls. Don't worry about it.

You can always take a quick and easy home pregnancy test to calm your worries.

Your body is confused. Pill, no pill, pill, = Eeeeek I'm so confused!!! It's totally normal for your period to be out of whack when you go on and off the pill. I'd say you're totally fine. But like Mes said, take an Hpt if it will make you feel better. Buy a cheapo at the Dollar Store or something.

Keep an eye on yourself when starting the new pill given the problems you had with the last one. I hope this one works better for you.

Thanks guys, I'm really freaking out but if you both say it's fairly normal then I'll chill out. I'm just hoping I get it soon so i can stop spazzing out about it.

It varies so much depending on the person... could be a day away, could be a month, two months...

Buy a pregnancy test to put your mind at rest. NOW.

Should've bought one while I was at work today but I completely forgot about it. I did get my new pill yesterday even though I can't take it until my next period. It's called Sprintec, or well its generic for Ortho Tricyclen I believe. Low dosage. Would be nice to finally be able to start it.
