Little blood, no period?

Last month one day I had a little bit of blood, just enough to leave an oval in my underwear but not enough to go through my shorts, ended up having no period. Yesterday evening my boyfriend and I were fooling around in the dark and he noticed his hand had blood all over it. We stopped, I went and cleaned up a bit and put in a pantyliner. For the rest of the night and all day today there's been no blood. Also, generally about a week before my period I have pms and I didn't experience that leading up to last night so I found that odd when he told me he had blood on him, I can almost always tell when my period is about to start. Any ideas what's going on?

My first suggestion is talk to your doctor.
Are you on birth control? Some birth controls cause very light periods or irregular cycles.

Everyone's period goes sporadic at some point in life. It would help if you gave us more information, like if you are on birth control (as above poster has inquired) and if you've had unprotected sex.
