It is called breakthrough bleeding. Starting birth control means breakthrough bleeding can happen at any point while taking the pill, mostly happens when you first start taking it but it can still pop up after you have been taking it for years. It happens to literally all women who have been on the pill at some point, it is merely your body adjusting to seeing the pill.
Brown is simply old blood and uterine lining. During a cycle not all will be pushed out, and the brown means it is just older. It is again normal.
Stress can cause a multitude of symptoms on the body including breakthrough bleeding.
