Ouch!!!! What a time for an ovarian cyst to rupture than at work in the middle of a meeting. At least I'm pretty sure that's what it was. I've had them rupture before but it's almost always been after sex (my poor boyfriend thought he'd killed me). This one (15 minutes ago) was brought on my me taking a pee right before my meeting. My sympoms include: sudden, SEVERE cramping in the vagina, rectum, uterus & cervix...along with some spasming. Awesome, hey? I can't even walk when it's happening. Luckily, I was able to excuse myself from the meeting, hobble back to my office, close the door, take 600mg of Advil and wither on the floor without being noticed. It's slowly starting to get better...I'm sitting in my chair...still can't move too much yet though.
I knew this was coming...I could feel the cyst on my left ovary for the last little while. Even walking seemed to jar it, so I suppose I should be greatful that now at least it's resolved itself...or starting to. I went to my doctor for my annual about a month ago and told her that I was pretty sure I had or was developing a cyst on my ovary because I was getting little pinching pains that are usually associated with cysts. She told me not to worry too much about it, and that if it really started bothering me to go back & see her.
Here's my question: at what point should I be worried & go back to see her? I've been through that before...had a huge cyst rupture, went to the doctor and they sent me for an ultrasound which revealed that I had another golfball sized cyst on my OTHER ovary. Again, awesome, hey!? They told me that it looked fine (wasn't cancerous) and that it would probably "resolve itself" on it's own...which it did right after sex (again, my poor boyfriend)...
Is there anything they can really do, or is this something I'm just going to have to live with & deal with as it comes?
I'm 27 years old, and I'm on Alesse 21 (have been for years).
