Thread: period every 2 weeks and it lasts for about 5-7 days =/

I'm 20 years old and I've always had irregular periods. Either I'm missing them for months at a time or they're late. But now I've been having periods every 2 weeks and they last for about 5-7 days, mild cramping, and light bleeding. I've spoken to a NP and she put me on BCP BUT I'm still bleeding(while taking the BCP)....I know this can't be normal.....I don't know what to do. What I'm told to do is try to let the BCP take effect and see if that will regulate them.

omg i have the exact same issue - every two weeks for 6 days.. in the last 3 months theyve gone up to every 3 weeks. ive had my period for 5 yrs and my doctor still tells me its cos they havent settled yet. she told me to either go on the pill, and then suggested i have an ultrasound to check out my ovaries and a blood test to check if it was something wrong there.. i havent down that either:S
