I'm 18 years old and not sexually active for 2 years. Last Tuesday (Oct.11,2011) me and my ex had sex twice then it happened again last Friday(Oct.14,2011). I bleed after that and was really scared. It also hurts. There was a brown discharge on my undies until Saturday. I was expecting my period that week(my 28th day is on Oct.14,2011) also and I had my period last Sunday(Oct.16,2011). I was really scared because it is unprotected sex but he cum outside me. He removed his before he cum. But I still keep on thinking about it. Even though I have my period now. Please give me immediate advice or help. Am I pregnant? I'm really scared. Thank you.

Welcome to WH! First, based on the dates, my guess is that you are NOT pregnant. Let me explain why I think this but also state that I am not a medical professional and I cannot tell you whether you are or are not pregnant.

If you are not on the pill, you ovulate every month. Once you ovulate, approximately 12-16 days will pass before your period starts. This is called your luteal phase. Realistically, the ONLY time you can get pregnant is when you're ovulating, so there is a window of 5-7 highly fertile days in your cycle. If you started your period on the 16th, that means that you most likely ovulated somewhere around October 1-5 (approximately). If you ovulated around the 1st-5th, then you were not ovulating on the 11th or the 14th. So, MOST LIKELY, you are not pregnant.

Some women continue to have periods while pregnant. In your case, though I do not believe that you are pregnant, I think you need to go to the Dollar Store and get a cheapo home pregnancy test. You need to ease your mind and put this to rest.

After you do that, you need to seriously consider your decisions in the future regarding protection. A man has precum long before he ejaculates, that can also get you pregnant if you're ovulating. It only takes one time and if you're not ready to raise a child, please consider getting yourself an OBGYN and take responsibility for making sure you do NOT get pregnant. In addition, condoms are easily accessible. I'm sure he doesn't "want" to use them....but you don't "want" to be a parent right now either right? Require that he use condoms, or no sex. Take care of yourself.

That was such a great and big help. I will follow your advice! Thank you for answering my question. I badly need help. I shall use a pregnancy test after my period so I don't need to worry about it. Thank you very much. God bless!

You are most welcome. Best of luck to you. Let me know how things turn out for you. Be sure to think about your birth control options for future encounters.

I just had my pregnancy test a while ago. It is negative, I am very happy. But do you think it is accurate this time? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You asked if you can be sure of the pregnancy test answer - don't worry If you took it after your period has already finished, it is DEFINITELY accurate. Most tests are accurate either on the first day that a missed period would have happened or a few days before, depending on the test. So, since your period had already come and gone, the accuracy rate of your test is probably near 100%.
Congrats on your near miss, and for taking control of your sex life and fertility! Your nerves will thank you for the rest
