Thread: Brown Discharge?

Hi my name is Tiffany,
I am 13 and i always wanted my period and lately i have had cramps under my stomach and i recently went to bed at 7:00 and usally i go to bed around 10:30 so i am freaked out and i have had white discharge for like 1 year. and i just found brown discharge when i wiped i dont know what this is and i am scared! i told my mom and she said thats what usually happens before and after your period and so i wasnt so scared but now i have had it for 4 days now and my mom and sis thinks it is my period because my sis said thats how she started out and then after like 2 times of her period it was red and more of blood. i have brown little discharge please reply i need answers!!!!

Trust your mom and sister on this. It just sounds like perhaps your first period or...the onset of one. Cramping is a very common symptom of menstration and so is being tired. When I first started getting periods I had actual blood for about 7 days...but then I didn't get another for like a year and then again not for another 6 months and then I got them regularily every month since then. I got my first period when I was 12. I started to get them regularily when I was 14. I would usually sleep a lot the week before my period.

It sounds completely normal! Keep talking to your mom or sister about it and they will help you with anything else that happens.
