Terrible period..help please!

I am 17 years old and have always had an irregular period. During the beggining of 2011 at the age of 16 I started birth control to try to control my cycle. Nothing was helping and i continued to have irregular bleeding and cramps. My pain is almost unbearable and i was precscribed 800 MG ibuprofen to help with the pain. Although, i have had terrible stomach pain and cramping and noticed it only got worse with pain medication. I am now on 'Lo Loestrin Fe' and have had my period for over two months. My obgyn seems to have no idea what is going on and just keeps switching my pills. I have gone in for ultra sounds and they say everything looks fine. I am also in the process of getting many tests done on my stomach, but i haven't heard any news on my stomach either. I am beginning to worry that there is no hope and I am going to be in pain forever. I am wondering if my stomach pains and period could be linked? If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know! I am in constant pain everyday and just want to find a cure that it seems the doctors can't.

Hey Jewels, welcome to WH sweet.

I remember being 16 and cramped on the school yard, it was horrible.. Same thing, the pill "may work" but it's trial and error to find the right dosage that assists you...

If you are not happy with your Doctor, go and see another Doctor until someone gets it right.

Heat bags "google it" work as well on your stomach, walking hurts but does ease it and water and deep breathing, in and out.

I can tell you, that once I went on the pill that worked for me, it was normal back aches

Have faith it won't be for the rest of your life.

I don't think at all it's your stomach, periods are a horrid thing us women have to go through .

Ask your Doctor if he / she can prescribe muscle relaxants, they also help at that time. When it's so bad.
