I would assume it could be the onset of menopause.
Ok, this is my first post here and would like some opinions. I am 42 years old with 2 children, been married for 20 years, and I only have one tube and it is tied (9 years ago). My periods have always been relatively normal lasting about 5-6 days. Since October they have become very different. My October, November and December cycles began with a full week of brown discharge immediatly followed by my period. In January there was no week of brown discharge but my cycle lasted a full 8 days compared to the normal 5-6. I ended my cycle last Saturday, January 21st and last night it appears I have started again. The bleeding appears to be more brownish/red. Another thing I have noticed is the amount of discharged clots and the size of the clots have really increased over the past few months. I am beginning to get a little nervous with these changes that are occurring. What are your thoughts?
I would assume it could be the onset of menopause.
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
Brown discharge (without odor) is usually a sign of old blood coming out. Its nothing to get worried about. However, since you are saying you are very regular and this is not your usual signs, there may be other things influencing your body. Any changes in stress, medication, vitamin supplements, etc? If nothing has changed, I would call your GYN just to be on the safe side.
