Thread: post partum birth control and my period

I recently had a baby, 10 weeks ago, and when I went to my 6 week check up, the doctor prescibed me the birth control pill, Seasonale, about 2 1/2 weeks after starting the pill, I began to bleed, that was on May 31st, it is now June 12th and I am still bleeding, it is not real heavy, but not light either. Is this my bodys way of regulating it self after birth or is it a response to the birth control?

You are probably experiencing the symptoms of both your post pregnancy hormonal change and the birth control hormonal change. In that situation, it is no surprise that you periods are irregular. You should expect them to be irregular for a while most likely. Just until your body can balance out the hormones. Women on birth control experience that regardless of giving birth.
