    HI
this problem has been a bother for quite some time now. Every month a week before my period starts, I get really tired almost fatigue. I have even missed work just to get rest.

I dont know what is causing me to be very tired. I do every thing im suppose to do, like eat right, get enough rest etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thumbs up

    Silver,

Maybe you need some vitamins? Vitamin B and B12 is good for that tiredness; and you may also need to boost up your iron intake.

But check with your doctor and see if this will help, or if there's something else going on that you may need a prescription for.

Definitely check into B12, B50, folic acid and iron supplements. I take all of these but especially a B12 daily. It helps, especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan (like me) because you usually aren't receiving enough of these vitamins through protein animal sources. B12 will make you feel more awake and energetic. There a different types of B12 vitamins, some are normal in which you just swallow them whole, but some you find are 'sublingual'... meaning you put them under your tongue and let them dissolve there. I heard that sublingual B12 allows you to absorb more of the vitamin into your bloodstream through the fragile tissue under your tongue, therefore it is more effective than swallowing one and absorbing it through your stomach. So i;ve been trying the sublingual and i find that i do feel even more energetic.

Iron deficiency can result in anemia, less oxygen to your brain and muscles etc. and this can make you feel lethargic too. Iron is especially important during that time of the month because of blood loss and less red blood cells.

I'm no expert, but definitely talk to your doctor and i hope this helps out a bit!!
    Goodluck...

Exclamation I need help as well!

    Greetings,

I too have this same problem. About one week before my period I get sick and tired so much that I can't function. Not only do I deal with the things that come along with PMS but I tend to get swollen glands, sore throat, and am so exhausted.

I am currently taking thyroid medication and also taking Vitamin B supplements. However, it still occurs no matter. I don't know what else to do. I'm doing all of the things that I know how too. Any advice or suggestions would be awesome as well.

    Thanks,

    Miss Daisy
