Thread: 13 year old daughter - still no period, normal??

I completely understand how your daughter is feeling. I didn't get my first period until I was 14 but the 2 years prior to that I felt like there was something wrong with me (my mother got hers at age 11, and all my friends and schoolmates had already started). My mother tried to reassure me by telling me that up to age 18 was normal. Please reassure your daughter that there is nothing abnormal about her and that her body will start when she is ready. Just a little patience is needed, thats all.

I didnt get my period until the last day of 8th grade, I was 14 or 14 1/2...so I would say don't worry about it too much. I know that my mother didn't start hers until she was 16.
