Increase Of Period Frequency
My periods have been quite regular for atleast the past year, usually every 36-38 days.In July I was 2 weeks late but other than that quite regular. On September 11th(2 weeks early) I had a really light period that lasted 5 days instead of the usual 7 or 8 days.I had anouther period on September 27th that also lasted 5 days and was quite light.I just started anouther period today and it is so far quite light.Usually my periods are heavy from the start.Nothing has changed lifestyle wise, haven't really had alot of stress. In August I had an ultrasound done that revealed a few cysts that the doctor thought they were normal follicular cysts,I am going to a gyno in the beginning of November for a second oppinion due to pelvic pain.
Could this be caused by the ovarian cysts? What other things could cause this?
Also I was wondering if black blood was normal?I've had dark brown blood before but never black

The blood is black when you wipe, or does it maybe just look black on your pad/tampon? (sorry if that is too graphic a question)
You kind of just threw the pelvic pain part in there... is that with every period or just recently? I have cysts that burst when I ovulate... sometimes the pain feels like my appendix is bursting, and all I can do is take Motrin or something.
My friend had an ovarian cyst that burst; the pain was so bad she passed out/threw up... we honestly thought it was food poisoning or appendix.
So I suppose cysts could cause the pain you mentioned. Also your cycle could be changing (why you have lighter more frequent periods) - I don't know if it is acutal fact but I've always heard a women's cycle changes a bit every seven years or so.

Its black on my tampon as well as when I wipe.Ewww.
I've had pelvic pain since the end of July beginning of August. Its more like constant cramping that's not too bad.The pain increases when I exercise, sometimes even walking, and sometimes gets to the point where I have to sit down and take some tylenol. It also increases when I have my periods but not all that much.
I went to the clinic about it and the doctor there sent me to go get an ultrasound done.He said that he thought they were just normal follicular cysts and that they we're not the cause of the pain. Both my mom and I thought it would be best to get a second oppinion and that is why I am going to a gyn.
I guess it could just be a normal period change.I've always had long cycles though and heavey bleeding ever since I started my period.

I'm glad you're going to get a second opinion!
They really need to do an in-depth exam and get down to the root of the problem!
