You might have gone to see a doctor by now, but in case you haven't, I was wondering if you are an athlete. It is common for athletic women to have problems with menstral cycles. I am also 17 and I participate in school sports year round. I missed my period for about 8 months, and my doctor said it was because of the amount of physical activity I do. If this is the cause, you are not dying, but you could greatly increase your chances of osteoporosis. Your doctor may simply put you on birth control to make your periods more regular. Mine did, and it helped.

I would suggest seeing a doctor. My sister had the same problems. She would go without having a period for three to four months. There is probably not a major problem as with her, but your concerns and fears will be eased by a doctor visit.

I was just wondering about something you might know about. Some of the women here have been complaining of pain in their legs with irregular cycles. They are also active and do a lot of walking. Do you know if the pain and exercize could be related?

Also, I noticed your comment about Osteoporosis and then the fact that you are taking birth control. I just wanted to make sure you weren't on Depo Provera because it causes Osteoperosis.

Exclamation Gynophobic

dunno if that's really a word, but i'll make it one. can you all help us newbies learn what'd happen if we don't see a gynocologist, especially if our periods are way off? (like for me, i'm on the pill cuz of the going without periods for even up to six months. it gets kinda scary, even though i don't have to deal with the discomfort)
