31 No Period in Years and Cysts on Ovaries
Okay...Here goes my long story and I appreciate all those that read this and have any suggestions or may share their own experiences.
When I was 17 I went on birth control as my periods were so severe I would miss at least 2 days of work due to severe pains. Birth Control helped tremendously until I was about 22 when the abdominal pains returned so severely I would literally double up and be completely incompacitated from the pain. I had lots of tests done till one day a Doctor Suggested that I may have endometriosis. I was told pregnancy was probably never going to happen. No treatment options at that time were suggested........For quite some time the pains suddenly stopped and at 27 I got pregnant. Surprise!! Early on in the pregnancy I had severe cramping and was considered high risk. When I reached my 6th month I was healthier than I had ever been and feeling great. After having my daughter (everything went well) I was put on the mirena iud birth control. I have not had a period in 5 years and about a year and a half ago the pains have returned. I have gone through pelvic ultrasounds with a transvaginal 3 times. First time a cyst on the left ovary was found which I was told was a self resolving. Then no cysts and now 2 more on my left ovary. Now this does run on my mother side of the family and almost every woman has had a hysterectomy...Including my 31 yr old cousin (My mother's sister's daughter) whom had uterous cysts. As I have not had a period in 5 yrs and have gone through these pains off and on since I was 17 I was seriously considering a hysterectomy as well.
I have just had the IUD removed as it has a life of only 5 yrs and am not currently on birth control. My doctor is not comfortable with the hysterectomy option mostly because of my age. However...My husband who is 45 and has had a vestectomy and I with all my issues...will never have any other children ... This is not a option for us. And as I have already gone without a period for 5+ years what difference would it make. I am tired both physically and emotionally and just want this out and done with. Everyone I have spoken to has said that the hysterectomy was a God Send. My doctor has then said if she could leave the right ovary (which has yet to have cysts) and the cervix taking only the left ovary and uterous she would feel more comfotable about the surgery. I have been tested for menopause which came back that I have NOT gone into. Any one have similar experiences, Suggestions or advice...I would greatly appreciate your approach and thoughts to my story. Thank you all kindly for reading this long drawn out story and my apologies for any gramar and spelling problems.

hi, you havent had a period in 5 years that is such a long time, is it polyestic ovaries thats putting the lumps inyour overies, i just wouldnt jump to quick to get a hysterectomy done, i do understand what your saying, you havent had a period in 5 years and your husband had a vestectomy, so you just think whats the point, we can never have children again anyway, right, wrong, i myself suffer from polyestic ovaries, which means i have a lot of cysts in my overies, and some times i dont get periods at all, and when i do there all over the place, i was put on pills called metformin, i think thats what there called, these were ment to stable my periods etc, but they didnt work, and with in time all my periods stopped altogether, and the doctors told me i wouldnt be able to have children, i was gutted, for about 3 years i had no prediods at all, then all of a sudden, they came back, and for some reason they are always on time, and i couldnt be happier, just because you dont have periods right now, whos to say that they wont come back again like mine, and whos to say that you will always stay with your husband, you might fall in love with another man, and you might decide you want to have a child with this man, all im saying is live has so many twists and turns, you think your really happy with the way things are right now, but is it always going to be that way, please dont rush into this, i would listen to your doctor, your still young, live could change in a click,
