Thread: Brown Discharge

Hi. I'm fifteen years old and have been going on my period since I was 11. I am not sexually active nor am I on birth control. A few weeks after my period I started seeing brown discharge in my underwear and when I wiped, which has never happened before. Sometimes it's dark and other times it's lighter, but it shouldn't be an STD because, like I said, I'm not sexually active and have never been. I haven't paid much attention to the smell but it IS odd and sometimes it's stronger than others. Could anyone tell me what could be wrong? I'm a bit afraid to ask my mom to take me to the doctor's because I don't know if I'm overreacting or if it's serious. Help?
