    Unhappy overdue period

    I am just barely starting my period since October because of the Depo shot. Although I am glad it is finally coming, I am concerned by the way it looks. It has a fowl odor, and it is very dark colored, almost black or dark brown. Is that normal? I am super bloated too, yuck!

    hello there,
    yes it does take a bit to get back to normal after being on the depo. the fowl odor and funky color and bloating might be because you haven't had a period for awhile and it is because your going to start for the first time in a long time. also you might have a yeast or other type of infection going on to. you can buy a yeast detection kit made by vagisil to check for a yeast infection. if you have any on going concerns then ask your gyno.....
