If you are really worried call your doctor. Or an ask-a-nurse 1-800 number. They will be able to tell you if there is a cause for worry.

I think for the first few months this can be normal, but do speak to a doctor if you are really worried. I'd definitely see one if you're still getting brown discharge after 3 months.

When I started my bc back in Nov, I had the discharge for about a week. I also had it the next month, but that time I only had it for a couple of days. The doctor told me that was normal the first time you are put on birth control, that it's just your body getting used to the hormones. If it continues for more than two months, you need to get back in to your doctor and have him/her adjust your pill.
