Your periods are easilly effected by just about everything. So, having infections, stress, hormone fluctuations, and taking any sort of pills or suppliments can cause it to be irregular. There is no telling which thing may have cause the irregular bleeding. However, if you see an increased thickening in your discharge, then you are probably going through a hormonal change. The thick stuff is tissue that is being shed from the uterine wall. It is very normal. With a hormone fluctuation, you may also have an increase in cramping, bloating, and all the typical symptoms most women get.
Yes, it is possible that your infections may not have cleared up completely, but you will only know if you go back to the doctor and have them run some tests again. As you may know, the UTI causes frequent urination, painful urination, blood in urine, and pain in the abdomin.
