I have had my period now for three weeks. Tomorrow starts the fourth week. It started on March 20th and has been here since. Last month it started on Feb 1st and lasted until Feb 20th. It wasn't as heavy as it is now. It started light and then got heavy and then got light and stopped last month. But this month it is very heavy with clots the size of my palm. I have to wear a tampon and a pad and changed them every three hours even in the monddle of the night. I am not on birth control and I am not sexually active (last time was in December). I went to the gyno and she talked about birth control to control the bleeding. However I am 27 and want to have kids soon and I don't want to have the problem of coming off the birth control when I am ready. This happened only once before when I was college and 21. I had the period for three months at that time. I am really worried now since it isn't doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon.

Well I can definately see why you are worried, you should definately go to the doctor and discussion your options. Since you don't want birth control, a D&C (i believe that is what its called) which is a surgical procedure that is bascially scraping out your uterus of all the extra lining. Do you have endometriosis? That could be why you have been bleeding for so long. I would definately go to the doctors asap so you can get this resolved and stop the worry.
