Hi. I'm 26 years old and i usually get my period around the same time each month. This time I'm already 2 weeks late, which has never happened before. However, I have been using tampons almost daily for the last month or so without being on my period. Could this have any affect on this? Is it unhealthy? I did have a lot of stress lately, so maybe my hormones just went crazy on me. Still I'm a little worried cause I do cramp a little bit. Thanks for any help....

Why are you using tampons when you are not on your cycle? You are not supposed to do that. You can cause irritation, infection, and dryness. The tampons will absorb the normal discharge which essentially cleanses your vaginal area and keeps it lubricated. If you are having excessive discharge, use panty liners instead.

However, using tampons regularly is not known to effect when your cycles start. It is more likely that stress is the cause of your delayed cycle. Stress has a serious effect on women's cycles.
