Thread: 2 week long period

Until 2 months ago I’ve always had very regular 7-day long periods. Last month my period started on time, but was unusually light and also very bright in color for the first 7 days. I thought I was done after a week, but got surprised by a heavy black-brownish flow on the eighth day. This heavy flow continued for about 3 more days before it got weaker and stopped completely on the 7th day (well, actually on the 14th day..)
28 days after my heavy flow began my period was back…very light and bright again for 7 days, following the black-brownish flow for another 7 days.
I’m 25 years old, have no health issues, am sexually active but do not use any birth control (I was on the pill 6 years ago...).
Could this change in my period be stress related? Or what could be the reason?

So im 23 yrs old and never really had any problems with abnormal periods either. This last period i had was very odd but similar to yours. i had my cycle for 5 days then stopped for 2 then it restarted again and i have had it ever since which has been about 2 weeks now. when it started up again it was dark brown blood, now its just brownish almost black watery like discharge. No other symptoms sometimes my ovaires will hurt but thats about it. I am sexually active but in a relationship. we have unprotected sex, and im not taking any types of birth controls either....I dont know whats causing this...havent went to the gyno yet. Did you ever get an answer as to what was going on with you????
