Having gone into menopause about five years ago, I don't use
this stuff any more...but when I did, I didn't have a problem...
although I did when I tried to use the cup...I couldn't get it
out...
I HATE tampons and pads. I hate having to run to the store to always replenish the supply and the cost is ridiculous. I hate contributing to the waste we consumers produce. My sister first told me about the Diva cup and I was grossed out but then looked into it and found out how much better it can be.
I wish there was more education of the public on cups like the Diva Cup and Instead cups. I use the Instead cups during sex. The only thing about Instead is that they can be a to get out. I had to fashion the hook end of a wire hanger to pull it out and even my bf was nice enough to take it out for me once on vacation. He wasn't to grossed out or anything. How great is he! But the wire hanger is great until I can find some sort of plastic hook bigger than a knitting needle to help pull it out. Honestly if you like having sex during your period this prevents the mess. I still choose to have a towel to catch anything but that is up to you. Personally I like sex during menstruation since it helps ease the cramping.
When not having sex the Diva cup is ideal. I haven't tried the other brands but the cup is so much easier, better for the environment, and completely makes my period a non-issue. It's easy to clean and store and if you know when you are going to start you can go ahead and use it. Seriously, why isn't there more education on these for women? I wish Diva cup or Instead would put out some commercials. In you are interested there are some good informative videos on you tube. I tell every woman I know about this since the only way they are ever going to hear about it is word of mouth. Okay so I only really tell women I'm close to cuz I'm not going to be THAT girlfriend.
