    Okay,
    I'm 15 years old,
and I still haven't had my first period!
I've been thinking there must be something wrong with me, because all my friends got their periods around 12 or 13 years old.
Two days ago I got a lot of brown discharge in my panties. But I haven't seen any red blood at all! My lower tummy has hurt on and off for a few days, but there has been no sign of red blood.
    What does this mean?
Is my period on its way?
Or is there something wrong with me?
Someone please help me I have about worried myself sick.

And one more question- should I see my doctor?

The pain went away, it was a lot brown discharge and that's it.
Is that even considered a period?

    Hi liz beth

Each woman is different when she develops, as for age and how it commences.

I would imagine that your body is trying to start your first period as it sure sounds that way to me especially with pains.

If it has gone away, and you feel comfortable then monitor it as it may still spot a bit, but if your worried then go to the Doctor and discuss it, together with what to expect from here.

    Thank You for your reply.
I had pains for a few days-
but now it has gone away.
    No red blood- only brown.
So I bet my body is trying to start,
if I don't see any red blood next month, I'm definantly going to talk to my doctor!
I'm probably just developing really slowly- I mean i'm flat as a board! lol!

    Thanks

    Hey.
I wouldn't worry about what age you are.

I know girls who started at the age of 8 and girls who started at the age of 16+.

I agree it definatlly sounds like your body is getting ready to start.
    Good luck!

That's how mine was my first time.
I was like uhm.. this better not be .. I don't remember crapping myself..
Turns out it wasn't that heh.
It sucked though because it was on Halloween night - I was at my friend's house [13 years old] although it wasn't THAT bad because luckily it waited until after the trick or treating
It was all brown like you said yours was, I told my friend and her mom and I got a pad but no more stuff came. But as the months went by it kept coming back and getting heavier. It wasn't regular but now almost 3 years later and I wish it was just that little bit of brown stuff - would be so much easier! But anyway I would be prepared for it to be comin' back sometime next month or 2! Going to the doctor never hurts though if you're concerned 'bout it.

Hey! Yeah, every girl is different. Mine was like that the first time, also. Does your mom know or anything?

Just to share when I started I did not know I started because I too had brown discharge. This is your body getting ready to start it might take a little while before the flow becomes normal. Age is different for each person so my advice make sure you keep pads with you because it can happen at the times we just don't want it to happen.

i am almost 13 and dont have my periods yet. Last month in January I woke up in the middle of the night with pain in my lower stomach. The next morning I started getting heaps of dark brown discharge that lasted for about 4-5 days. The was no blood at all.from then on I haven’t had it and my discharge has gone back to its normal colour. what does this mean
