Why is it so much of an effort to be positive whereas being negative is easy. It takes a tremendous effort on my part to try to find the positive in situations. Tonight, my boyfriend is distant and it's hard not to take it personally. I am highly empathetic. I feel his feelings as well as my own. The atmosphere in this place is oppressive and suffocating. I feel negativity beckoning to come in like an unwanted guest. I try to distract myself but it's always there. Such an effort. Is it worth it? It's such a struggle sometimes.

Your a deep soul, your words, poetic, write happy things, write lenghty poems and watch the positive thoughts flow through..

Everything is at first a stuggle, there are many hurdles, learn to jump them stronger, higher, everything good is worth it...

If you feel down, you think negative, what things make you happy? Write about them when your down....

Do we not realise that in order to find a soul

I could try that CW. I have some positive things my boyfriend wrote to me. I could look at those.

Dont take it as anything towards you...some men.. when theire stressed and distant just need some time to figure out what they need to do to solve the issue that is stressing them.(gatherd from your outher posts)....just be patient ..and like the lady above me suggests...she knows all.
If it wasn't for the bad times.... We wouldn't appreciate the good ones!

I know it's just his stress taking over when he's distant or says things he doesn't mean. Like he did on Tuesday. It's hard though because he's all I have besides online friends.

You need to reach out and bring some more people into your life! Do you have interests or hobbies? It's not good for you or your relationship to make your bf the only source of interest in your life. You write very expressively, have you ever considered taking a writing class or joining a book group? Most communities have dozens of social groups, here they are usually listed in the newspaper once a week. FInd one that sounds interesting and check it out, keep checking out different groups until you find something that clicks. Go do some volunteer work, there is nothing better for perking you up than helping someone else.

I love to read, watch tv, watch movies, and learn new things.(Especially languages) I've thought of taking a writing class but never did because of finances. As for a book group, I've never thought of doing that. I will have to make more of effort to find out about free groups in my area. Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions WildChild.
