oh thank you for the info, it was very useful. Do you know how long you have to take medication?? Is it a lifetime thing? the reason why i ask is because i don't want to be on medication for a long time for several reasons one of them is that i can't exactly afford it. ;(

It eventually stopped, and yours will too. For me, I realized that my body as reacting to my situation.....despair. I was not in control of my life.
I believe that the answer to your question has already been answered.

    Thanks starvingforsex.

Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

I think the other poster and I are talking about two different issues. There is such a thing as random panic attacks versus environment-induced ones.
For the random attacks, yes you'd probably have to take the medicine your whole life. But if you've looked into agoraphobia and how it can wreck people, ask yourself if you can really afford to let this problem get ahold of you. There are generic versions of medicines and doctors will work with you to find a medicine that is affordable and effective.

i will probably have to take it for the rest of my life, yes, i have always been an anxious person - i guess, that is why i married a nasty control freak as the medication dealt with my problems i guess the real me, took charge. i didnt have to wory constantly about panic and anxiety. it was a crippling as a broken leg, now i can run free (bad analogy but you know what i mean)

maybe you are lacking excercise and healthy foods, try to drink more water and excercise gets some sun.
I know I have some anxiety attacks and I get thru by drinking iron because I am anemic since I was a kid.
