I know alot of women feel anxious and i want to know why women feel it more then men?I have 3 kids, and i feel like my work doesnt stop and when im sitting down i think of the next thing i have to do,lately ive been learning and trying to take my time but it is very hard.I feel like when all the kids are crying im trying to relax or even go to the bathroom lol .Then its meal time, clean up messes wash them up i have so manythings to do and things i need to get done that all these thoughts and mental notes make me so anxious.I tried talking to people listening to music and lectures but then i discovered colonopin however you spell it.A freind of mine has very bad anxiety and i had a severe attack and i couldnt stop crying and breathing very rapidly. She gave me one and about an hour later i felt so much better like i was in another world. The problem is that i dont like taking medication.I tried teas and jsut laying down breathing and stretches but nothing helped me like those pills did.Anyone going through this?Any tips?

I would highly recommend you stop taking pills from someone else. Thinking "if it works for me it must work for my friend who is dealing with the same thing!" does not replace the actual education and experience of a real doctor. They are called prescriptions for a reason, so if you need to calm down via meds you would need to go to a doctor to get assessed to see if you indeed can/should take any. There are things called adverse chemical reactions in patients who decide to play doctor, without holding a MD, so just be very careful.

As for 'at home' remedies, ask someone to take the kids for a few days so you can relax and have some alone time.

i agree with you.I failed to say that i did get assesed thats how i know i have anxiety and they were going to prescribe me the same meds but i never went back to pick them up because i moved to a new place. So i did have the ok to take them but i know its not right taking another persons prescriptions seeing as they need them too.It was only twice that she gave it to me and once was right after i had a baby.I just do not like the idea of prescriptions im more of a natural healer but i am having a hard time kicking the anxiety....i would like natural ways instead of pills. But the pills did the job so much better...now with that being said,do you think or know any ways to relax from anxiety and try curing it without pills?and my kids...lol i wish but i live in a different state then my family and my husbands family were only here because his job is here his family is in florida and mine is in california. So i had them in day care but my kids started acting up and cursing (saying extremly bad words) and then the day care provider took one of my kids to the play ground without my permission and he fell on his head and after that it made my anxiety worse because i want the best for my kids and i dont want them going through these changes and acting different,They came home so different and acting so bad that i dont want them out anymore with different people. And i trusted that lasy she was so well experienced and professional...you cant judge a book by its cover i guess...

Anxiety is such a hinderance in life. Such overwhelming feelings about life are terrible, and then it makes the day-to-day even more overwhelming! I think women experience this more because we are more emotional/sensitive creatures to begin with. We are hard-wired to worry and care and nurture and provide and bear the work of 100 people on our backs. Then if/when we can't succeed in doing everything we think we need to in the amount of time we think it should take, we get defeated and feel the anxiety creeping back into our minds....

I agree that someone else's prescriptions are not the way to help cope with or eliminate your anxious feelings. It sounds like you are going through what a lot of mothers do... too many things to do, too much to take care of, and not enough hands or minutes in the day.

Is there anyone that can help you with your responsibilities so that you can take a while to just B-R-E-A-T-H-E and relax for a bit and gather your thoughts?

Is there anyone who can be your support system when you're feeling anxious? Someone you can call up and vent to so you don't bottle up all your anxious feelings?

You might also want to talk to your doctor about your anxiety. They will be better equiped to help you determine if your feelings are in a normal range that can be dealt with by a few lifestyle changes, or if it is something deeper and chemical that would require medical attention to relieve.

now with that being said,do you think or know any ways to relax from anxiety and try curing it without pills?
Personally I am not so much for natural healing, so I do not know if there is a piece of bark you can chew, a leaf you can put in some tea, or some highly potent enzyme you can take as a natural pill. Someone else here may know, but I doubt any prescription drug or natural method will be a 100% cure. However like I said the only thing that I can think of that would be a reasonably good start is just to give the kids to someone for a day or two so you can try to have some time to yourself. Maybe even for just an afternoon at the spa.

Anxiety is hard to control on your own, you may need to go for therapy to get the cognitive-behavioral aspect of anxiety under control. However the drugs prescribed do a very good job, as you noticed, but like you said not everyone is into that route which is fine.
