Post Boost your memory! Stop memory loss!

Staying healthy and working your brain is essential to fighting memory loss. Here are some tips to help keep your memory fresh and kicking!

Be sure to eat plenty of eggs. They are rich in choline, which has been proven to help memory.

Want to stay alert? The carbs in popcorn will keep you wide eyed and bushy throughout your day.

Studies have shown that strawberries and blueberries helped to improve coordination, concentration, and short-term memory in rats.

If you think keeping your work or home areas always organized helps with memory, think again. Dr. Lawrence Katz and Manning Rubin, authors of "Keep Your Brain Alive", recommend that you frequently rearrange things in order to destroy the spatial mapping in your brain. This causes you to relearn the areas and give your brain a good work out.

A similar memory workout is to brush your teeth using the opposite hand. The awkward and unusual chore will be a good project for your brain. The same can be said for writing or eating with the opposite hand.

Make time for gaming. Popular console games such as those for XBOX, Nintendo, and Playstation will definately increase the function of your memory. Children's Digital Media Centers have discovered that avid game players display improved coordination and problem-solving skills.

Eliminate stress which causes the hippocampus, part of the brain responsible for memory, to shrink. It is also the quickest to part of the brain to deteriorate when Alzheimer's sets in.

Don't forget the basics. Without proper sleep, hydration, and physical activity... you are throwing your precious memory away!

Smile thank you!

I was so happy when I saw this post. I have been worried about my short term memory lately. I have always been forgetful but I think it's gotten worse. I even ordered some supplements (Clear Edge) to try to help. I've had them about a week and so far so good. Nothing extraordinary but I have been sharper the last couple days. Your post has a lot of great information that I am very thankful for!

Default Great post!

Thanks for the info, I have been having issues with my short term memory and I never really thought of trying to fix it, I just thought that's how I was going to be. Eggs it is!
