Honestly I have no other words...

The past little while I've been having horrible mood swings. Around some people I'm calm and happy and even a little hyper. Around others I am mean and aggressive. I honestly don't know what to do. Its gotten to a point where I have to leave the room almost every day so that I don't say something I will regret! Its annoying everyone, including me.
I can of course avoid the people who trigger me, but its hard to do when they are the ones who are always finding me.
I guess I can generally pin point the behaviors that will set me off, but I can never stop the person doing them from doing what he is..

If anyone has any ideas how to help me, I'd love to hear!

Are you on birth control? I was like that when I was on it.
Are you happy and generally positive otherwise? Getting angry doesn't solve anything, really it's just your own energy that you're wasting. It's natural but what helps me is knowing that I'm not going to let someone whom I don't like use the energy I would spend being angry at them.

Remember, for every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness. Who wants that trade? I don't.

yeah birth control would be my guess.

is it purely a temper thing?
    like people *really* annoy you?
    and others dont?

if thats the case then avoiding them is the best thing to do.

if its completely irrational then its probably hormone related and either coming off or going on the pill could help. talking to a doctor is probably a good first step if its really worrying you.

have you tried the counting to ten thing?

sorry, im a bit of a loss x

I would suggest looking at when it happens - is it cyclical with you menstral cycle or anything else? Could very well be a hormonal imbalance. I have experieced severe hormonal imbalance (which has now been corrected) and it caused mood swings - anger/agression, anxiety a bunch of nasty symptoms.....

Hey, I wasn't aware that birth control had an effect on moodswings. I'm always having these moodswings and it's becoming a habit. One minute I'd be all jolly and the next minute I'm all tears or feel like beating up a punching bag, and this is affecting my relationship because my bf feels as if he is dating two people at the same time.Wow it's amazing what substances can do to ones body.

Yes. I suffer from anxiety, depression, mood swings. My doctor took me off birth control.. because she said it was just making it worse.
