effexor is horrible to withdrawl from. take it very VERY slowly. i got brain zaps from that stuff. i will never use it again. good luck!
My doctor recently lowered my dosaged from 150 mg to 75 mg daily after about 4 yrs of use. I am not experiencing any depressing feelings but i am feeling a few other things: for one, i am exhausted no matter how much sleep i get. i feel extremely sluggish- like a normal workout is now more difficult. i am also having headaches and have gained weight (about 4 pounds). i have an appointment with my doc in a week and obv i plan on going over all this with him but im very impatient and am wondering if this is typical.
anyone have similar experiences?
Thanks!

'so why care for these petty obsessions? your designer heart still beats with common blood. and what if you could have genetic perfection? would you change who you are if you could?'
I have been on effexor xr for about 8 years. I have tried many meds but effexor has worked the best. I am now taking 150 mg. Over the years I have taken paxil, zoloft and something else. When I went to get my refill I discovered that the drug company is now seilling generic pills. So if anyone picks up effexor and it's an orange pill instead of a dark orange red pill. Don't be alarmed it is the same dose and same medication.
