My little sister is only ten years old and has been diagnosed previously with Bi-Polar, Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, ODD, and ADHD. She's been showing symptoms since age five.

I moved away for a while and got a break, but now I'm back living with my family and everything is crazy.

She's been going to a day treatment program and they switched her meds around. Today she flew into a rage over the fact that we weren't having McDonald's for dinner. Then she wanted to call her dad (our parents are divorced). She kicked, hit, and screamed at my mom, stepdad, and me. I had to take my other sister (age 5) and my daughter (age 2) in another room. When I came out she was screaming and hitting my mom, calling her a . She knocked over every chair in the dining room, threw the ironing board, kicked the coffee table, threw papers and mail, punched a window out, broke a lamp, kicked me in the stomach, hit me in the face and arm...the list goes on.

Our biological dad thinks we make this up and just don't understand her, treat her badly, don't give her attention, etc. He's seen the medical files and refuses to believe it. She always screams and cries to call him or go live with him. She tells him lies and acts like an angel when she's around him. He lives with his girlfriend and she doesn't want my sister there. He sees his other kid (our half sibling) more than us and doesn't pay his child support. But she still worships the ground he walks on and thinks everything would be perfect if she was with him.

In the end, we had to call her therapist and he said to send her to this residential pyschiatric hospital place again. The police even had to come because she tried to run away and was threatening everyone. She told the police all kinds of stuff, and when it was time for her to leave (they had to see if the streers were flooded) she told him to just shoot her in the head, that she'd rather be dead than go there. She's been there about three times. Once she stayed for almost a year and lost a ton of weight. I'm so stressed out and my mom cries non-stop.

I just want to feel like I'm not alone in all this . None of my friends understand and even my non-immediate family doesn't.

oh love i feel for you,
i have bipolar disorder and i've put my friends and family through
when im stable i can see what they've gone through and i feel more awful than i can describe
but when im there in the moment everything seems perfectly reasonable.

i've also got friends with it so i have some experience from the other side too.

the lies and the way she is with your dad is not about bipolar disorder
    its an attention thing.
which needs dealing with as a seperate issue.
why wont your dad let her live with him?

anything you want to know im right here x

My sister is bi polar and she refuses any treatments. I'm sure you can imagine the stress my family goes through. She changes from night to day. She does things that racks up thousands of dollars and doesn't do anything to pay it off. No, you are not alone. Hang in there.
