I have a major binge eating issue!
I will buy a large pizza from little cesear's (only $5) thinking it will feed me for a few days... i take 3 pieces (what I tell myself is already too much) than before I know it (without knowing I did it) the pizza is GONE!
I will make Mac n cheese, put a serving size in my bowl and again... I will go to put the left overs in the fridge... and it's GONE.
Now either I have a ghost that is eating my food, or I am having almost black outs when I eat!
I weigh 300+ pounds! I try to not binge by having only healthy food in the house, but than it's like something is possesing me and I walk out of the house and go through the drive through... not really realize I did it until I get home and there are burger wrappers on the kitchen counter....

I am sick of this! I have asked my friends and family to help me, but whenever we get together I end up eating an entire bowl of chips! I than get angry at them for not stopping me!! I am sure they just don't want to hurt my feelings by pointing it out in front of people....

I am just fed up with this and it is affecting my weight loss... as in I can't lose weight!!!

    UGH!!!!

I am on "medication" for it but it just doesn't seem to be working!!!!
    Thanks,
    Kendall

I would hassed at a guess that your blocking out what your doing more so...

Our minds are powerful, the most powerful thing we have...

Will power is a completely different thing. You have to WANT to do something.. Eating is an addiction as well, comfort... and you have to find the route of the cause, as to why you are not happy..

What is it that makes you feel you don't deserve to be healthy, look and feel fantastic, jump up and down on a spot, want to walk along a beach, hold someone's hand, fall in love, get the job you really want, feel like a million dollars?

Until you can answer that, your going to continue going for "comfort" much like a smoker... who is addicted, it's not so much that they need it, it's that they want it, and they feel they're giving something up, instead of realising it no longer has a hold on them, their life, their energy ....

    what medication are you?
i found prozac in low doses and paroxetine have been amazing for the binge part of the bulimia
so those would probably work quite well.

compulsive overeating as a clinical disorder is different from just emotional eating
    there is help out there

although i don't black out i can relate on some points... i will often too buy some food or make kraft dinner with the intention of having only 1 small bowl and then i end up eating the whole thing. It is sooo disappointing. So then i'll make something else with the intention of not eating it, then ill have a taste which will cause me to eat all or most of it. I then think back to the original thing i binged on and think, wow and i thought that was alot, after having eaten so much more. What helps me if just to remove myself from the situation (the kitchen) or brush my teeth or have a shower. I feel fresh after a shower and don't want to ruin it with binging. The thing about binging is that it is like a domino effect, once you start its almost impossible to stop until you feel like you wanna kill yourself lol :s. i know its really hard but just try to remember this before you start. if you do have something small just leave the food environment asap. hopefully these tips will help.. goodluck!
