I don't get them hardly at all anymore and I have learned a lot of tricks over the years (yep that pressure point thing works good) that when I do get them they aren't nearly as bad, they are tolerable and I can still function for the most part. I may be cranky but I can function. I think a lot of mine had to do with the hormones in the bcp because once I stopped taking them is when my migraines became fewer and farther between. I think now my headaches when I do get them stem mainly from my sinuses. I live in WA. State and usually when we have bad air days and my nose is stuffy, I get a headache but nothing close to a migraine.

Mine started at 12-13 and went until about 15/16 at a rate of one a month (sometime two) and it would put me out of school sometimes. I can still remember the first one I had in my little private school. We were walking back from the lunch room (It was an old bank building and the main building where the tellers were was the lunch room. Haha. We had portable buildings for classrooms)

While walking back I started seeing a sun spot like when you look at a bright light and look away and all you see is that bright spot. It started morphing into black and white (what I describe as geometric "African tribal patterns") blinking patterns. I found I had to look just right of where I was going so as not to stumble. We got in the classroom and started reading in turns from out science book. When It was my turn I tried but couldn't. I just said ".... I can't see..." My teacher was a little disturbed and after a couple questions she sent someone with me to the nurse (The front desk receptionist who used our tiny 10'x14' library as a make shift nurses office).

After laying in the dark on a mat for about 10 minutes I ran to the bathroom and threw up what seemed like my entire stomach and it's contents (plus a lung, lol) and my mom's best friend (my "second mother") had to come pick me up. I remember thinking "Oh God! Am I dying!?" It sure felt like it...

Ohhh... I pretty much wish to throw up when I have a good migraine coming on. I know once I throw up, my migraine will start getting better.

In use to have regular headaches. I was hospitilized for migraines for 4 days. it was so bad nothing worked I wanted to cry. I was given so many drugs till the migraine broke. I am now on preventive medicine which I take everyday to lessen the bad migraines. When I get a really bad one I take generic midrin it is like a wonder drug takes the pain away quickly and works so good. My Nuro Dr put me on Magnesium pills OTC he said they can help with the other symptoms like the blurry spots the light sensitivity and numbness. Hope that helps
