Hello everybody, I just found this website, and was hoping that somebody could help me with some issues I've been having.

For 1 1/2 years, I have been experiencing a number of symptoms. The first are visual and audio hallucinations, which happen every couple of minutes, every day. The things I hear and see don't have any pattern or anything like that, but they are usually very scary and violent. I also have insomnia, and the few hours that I do sleep, I usually have very scary and violent nightmares. This makes me incredibly fatigued and makes it difficult to concentrate and pay attention to things, or to do daily chores. I get dizzy and faint anywhere from 1-3 times a day. I am unconscious anywhere from just a few minutes to a couple of hours.

I've been going to different doctors, mental and physical, this entire time, trying to find anything that would help me, medicine, therapy, I'm not really that picky as long as it helps. But every single doctor that I have met has said that they can't find anything wrong with me, that I'm making it all up and that it's all in my head. So I have not gotten any treatment or any medicine so far. I am very frustrated and do not know what to do because there are not many doctors in my area that I have not seen.

I am open to any advice or suggestions that anyone might have for me. If anyone needs clarification on something, or additional information, I am more than happy to do that. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Forum.

No sleep or little sleep on-going can play tricks on your mind...Hearing music, voices, seeing things can also be from the constant lack of sleep, or a part of your brain that isn't functioning the way it should.

You say you've been to Doctors yet they haven't referred you to anyone for an evaluation, haven't hospitalised you to check your sleeping pattern, haven't tried to put you on something to help you sleep and see if that helps?

Go back and ask them to refer you for an evaluation - a cat scan - and if they think it's a good idea to try sleeping pills for a week and see if you can sleep and this goes away.

The doctors have referred me for many evalutions, most of the doctors that I've seen were specialists that have done tests on me. I've had two sleep studies done, but both came back completly normal, (atleast that's what they said,) so that was the basis for not giving me any medicine to help me sleep. I've had four cat scans over the years, all normal as well. I've tried many over the counter sleeping pills, as well as natural medicines and herbs to help me also, but none of the ones that I have tried have worked.

Tell me about the nightmares and if they are always the same, or different.

Also maybe a little about your life, how old are you, do you work, or are you in school/college, do you socialise, or stay at home most of the time..

    If you don't mind...

Sure, I do not mind. The nightmares are so weird, it's hard to explain them. Usually they involve me trying to escape from demons, soldiers or some undead creatures. I have never seen anything like these creatures so I have no idea where they come from. They are really gross and bizarre. I'm in a dark building or forest, or out in the street. Sometimes there is very little going on in the background. Sometimes it is a huge insane war, with explosions and people dying everywhere. I run from, or fight whatever is chasing me. The nightmare always ends with me dying at the end, no matter what I do.

I am 20 years old, I work at the college I attend. I try to socialize but I admit that has never been one of my strongest points, hearing voices and seeing hallucinations all the time makes it very difficult, most people think I am a freak. I usually stay at home to tell you the truth.

What have the doctors said about the visual and audio hallucinations? Often those result in a referral to a psychologist or a psychiatrist.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

I've seen many psychologists and psychiatrists also, I just lumped them all together when I said "doctors." They all didn't believe me, they said that I was making up all my symptoms. It's been very frustrating and upsetting, going to doctor after doctor, and each time they say that you are making it all up. So they didn't give me any medicine or treatment or anything like that.
