Default Klonopin/Anxiety...please help!

For about 5 years now (since age 15) I've had anxiety attacks at night only and thus been taking ativan. A few days ago I started to have them during the day. One lasted for two days! My doctor changed me over to Klonopin every 12 hours as needed but now I'm still fighting attacks at night in addition to feeling nauseus, dizzy, scared, sad, and many other side effects almost all the time. Doc says that this will go away with time but Im not sure if I can put that kind of time in.

Also, does anyone know what could have caused this sudden onset of worse panic attacks? I've recently become a vegetarian and moved back to my college apartment for school. Do I need more protein?

Sorry to write so much! Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer!!!

Default

I have panic attacks as well, but my doc put me on Zoloft for them. She told me that it's really important to take note when anything (even things you think are minor) changes in your normal routine, and if that has an effect on the attacks. I would think you should try going back to eating what meat/protein you can for a week or so and see if it gets any better. If you don't want to do that, I would stick with the new meds and most of those side effects will go away within a couple weeks. I have been on over 8 different mental health meds over my life and know that there are some pretty unpleasant side effects to experience! Usually they do go away, it just doesn't seem that way at first!

Talking I take Klonopin

i have been on klonopin for 5 years know i use to take other meds, but i have done alot of research on anxiety it took me a long time to understand them and see them for what they really are..sudden change can trigger anxiety or panic. i purchased this program called the Attacking Anxiety And Depression Program by Lucinda Bassett wonderful program it has shown me alot go to Midwestcenter.com and you will find the help you want there trust me when i say this i had banned myself from the outside world for a whole entire year beacuse of my panic attacks, klonopin to me is my wonder pill but remember not every pill works the same way for eveyone, so talk to your doctor and most all eat well no sugar, no chocolate, sudden change is good but we have to take it easy when it comes to change. good luck to you!!
