Pedophilia is WRONG, I don't care how you look at it. Anyone who even think its not may need to sincerly check themselves. Not meaning to be ugly or rude or anything. Just don't see how anyone can say pedophiles are done wrong because they are not, I think punishment should be a bet more harsh!!!

I would like to say that attraction is not wrong. Penetration will seriously damage the child. Also the majority of pedophiles are heterosexual white males not homosexuals like you might think. Pedophiles are treated horribly even if they dont harm or touch any child. Also there are then exclusive and non-exclusive pedophiles. If someone can control urges that will harm another person then they should be commended not persecuted. Attraction is just that, attraction. Also very few pedophiles actually act on those urges, the majority of pedophiles can control themselves and would never harm a child. If I knew someone was a pedophile and he or she could control those urges I would be perfectly ok with letting them near my hypothetical children just like I would be ok with a heterosexual male going near my hypothetical daughter.

Here un-lies the problem.

Pedophiles that have not harmed a child, do not want to harm a child, still look at various internet sites, including that of children, that is a fact.

At some stage, they can break, and change, snap, just like that, as a means to get caught usually. Fact.

Hypothetical is correct, unless you adopt, or marry a woman..

However, no one in their right mind will take that risk as a parent.

Whilst the sensible thing to do, if you are happy with them being around you and your hypothical children, is to ensure you are always there.

Why?

Because parents will ALWAYS protect their children, full stop and another fact.

If a person is looking at such sites they are still harming a child, indirectly, without the audience there is no such website. Most pedophiles do not look at sites and have other ways to relieve their sexual urges without harming a child. I would protect my children at all cost, i wouldnt trust anyone with my children unless it was me or my spouse. Also I wouldnt be allowed to marry a woman, gay marriage is illegal. Also I wouldnt want to be with a woman because I am heterosexual. But this has nothing to do with the topic, the part about having children. Also it is wrong to persecute anyone because of what other people in that group did. You always hear about the pedophiles who harm children in horrible ways, never about the ones who control themselves and dont act on their urges.

The media plays a large part in what "they" want us to hear don't disagree.

And, glad that you would still ensure that you and your partner would be present at all times, if you allowed a friend into your home and you had children, who was pedophile.

So what do you class as a pedophile then?

One that does look at those types of sites and also acts..

Then if they do not do either and can control urges, are they really a pedophile?

Or, is there other underlying mental problems sexually with them where they cut short of being one?

Someone who is emotionally and romantically attracted to pre-pubescent children is a pedophile, they do not have to act on these urges to be classified as a pedophile. Then there are exclusive pedophiles, those only attracted to children, they are more prone to act on their urges. Then there are non-exclusive pedophiles, those attracted to children and individuals of their own age, they are a lot less prone to act on their urges because they have more ways to relieve their sexual urges. Then there are non-sexual pedophiles that can either be exclusive or non-exclusive, the ones who just want to kiss, hug, cuddle like they would another person that they are attracted to but not have sex with any children, those are the only ones you can actually trust with your children. Also because I know so much and am defending pedophiles in this way says nothing about me.

I guess with the media, we just hear of the "exclusive pedophiles" hense we may not all be aware of the different types of attitudes to this particular subject or illness..

It is obviously something you know a lot of, and no it says nothing about you, rather knowledge that you know.

At least it explains further what your initial thread stated, as you see all forms or know of all forms of this style of person.
