I am not a mother, but it sounds like your daughter is a bit like me. There are two differences though. When I was 12 my mom and I had a paper rout together, I kept it until I was 17. And I had to get my license when I was 16 because I started to have panic attacks due to feeling trapped. I have always been close to my mom though, and in fact wouldn't hang out with anyone my own age...Because they were immature and shallow for the most part. I wasn't into dating because it was pointless and I had school to think about. I was lazy at times but would do things too. My mom and I have always been close, and I'm sure if you just asked her why she doesn't want to hang out with teens her own age she will tell you. Or even why she is afraid of driving. If you and your daughter are so close there is no reason for you not to just ask. But there is definitely nothing wrong with her just because she doesn't fit into a stereotype, she might even be proud of that fact like I was.
