I have a 4 year old son who is constantly "clearing" his throat. Almost like he has an itchy throat. I took him to his pediatrician in July because it seemed like it was developing into something because he was screaming his throat hurt. They did a strep culture and it came back negative, but the Dr gave us a script for cough medicine. He also said it may be because we swim a lot.

I've cut back on our swimming a bit, but the "clearing" of the throat just seems to be getting worse. Allergies, maybe? I'm thinking about taking him to an ENT. I make sure we all drink plenty of water. I try to keep my boys in if the weather is over 104 or so, we'll stay in until the sun goes down and take a walk or bike ride.

Anyone experience anything like this?
