I just got back from dropping my 5 year old off at pre-k and I got no kisses.

I walked him to the door, kneeled down and said "Okay buggy, give me kisses." He turned around like he was going to, then caught himself (like he had a momentary lapse of insanity) and TURNED HIS BACK TO ME. lol The little turd. I kissed him on the top of the head and said have a good day.

Really though? 5 years old and no kisses. Maybe it is just a stage and I'll get them back. *sigh*

    awwwww huggggs

I remember one time my boy was about 11 and we crossed the street and I reached for his hand and he let me hold it and I said wow? You still hold hands with me? You're not embarassed it? He said mom I will always hold your hand, it would never embarass me!!

Fast forward one year later, walking in the mall I reached for his hand and he acted like I stung him with a caddle prod and jumped about 10 feet away LOL... "mom... UGH just dont!! " lol..

HAHA - that is too funny, how much things change in a year, huh?

With my oldest, it wasn't until about 8 with the no kisses. The start of the last school year. But my 5 year old is definitely an independent little guy (more so than my oldest at this age) and feels he can be in charge of himself. He's as hard headed as his dad (that's what I say anyways).

I mean, jeez, I got kisses yesterday for crying out loud!
