Hi there Moms,
I'm birthing soon and this weekend I'm packing bags in prep for the imminent arrival as baby seems to be very low down already.
Been searching other baby-birthing-specific forums re what is required to pack for a baby bag, but all I've found is people saying ... "don't take much for baby as the hospital provides everything." Things is, I'm having a homebirth, but not at home, at a centre for living ritual. So they provide nothing for me in terms of basic requirements for baby or I.
So I have these on my list of things to take with me, but if there are any other things, in your experience, that the hospital either provides for baby or things you really found useful having there, please PLEASE advise!!
FOR BABY
receiving blankets
change of clothes
barrier balm
diapers
baby bath
hooded towling gown
Many many thanks

Onsies are the greatest baby clothing invention ever.
You must have an infant car seat.
Sourpuss's suggest to talk to someone at the center is excellent. I'm surprised your midwife hasn't covered this.

Thanks for your responses. It's just that this is the first time that they will be hosting an actual birth at the centre. It's been a place to birth other things over the last couple of years, like ideas and fresh aspects of oneself, but first time they are hosting birthing a baby. We are all very excited about the opportunity.
I will be doing a "home-visit" check with my midwives at the venue next week so will probably get some guidance then, but was packing my bag early, just in case, as baby sometimes feels like it's pushing right against my pelvic floor when I'm walking!
I agree with WC. Onesies are the BEST THING EVER. You can never have enough. Burp clothes either (cloth diapers are actually the best for this). Diapers, wipes, balm.
Pacifier, if you plan on using one (I was always partial to the soothies) and thankfully both my kids weened themselves after about 4 months.
I think that is it, you really don't need a lot, I think many overpack for labor.
