One thing people definitely overlook at baby showers is mom!! I loved the suggestion for a mani and pedi, cause if there is one thing that goes after having a baby is the motivation to take care of yourself, and the feeling of being attractive or sexy, especially after your body has done so many strange things. She will need new clothes after baby cause she will no longer be able to wear the maternity clothes soon after and she probably won't fit into her old ones just yet either. (unless she one of those women that I hate that are back at their normal weight in 3 weeks, ugh!) I wanted out of my maternity clothes as soon as I could.
I loved the "pamper mom" idea too! So for her shower (I kind of splurged a bit, but she needs it!):
baby grooming/medical kits
pacifier clips (clips pacifier onto baby's clothes so it doesn't get lost)
bibs
seasonally appropriate 6-12 month clothes
cute bibs w/ sayings for both mommy and daddy
gift cert for a mani/pedi at the salon in town
