Patricia, you're right---when you are ready to make the commitment of starting a family you will probably know! Congratulations on thinking of starting a family though! Personally, if I was a newleywed I would want to wait a couple of years to spend time with my husband and become established. However, some people wait too long to start a family because they want everthing to be perfect. But life isn't always perfect. Sometimes, when you think things are bad--they get worse! It really depends on your individual situation. Is there something you are waiting for before you want to start a family?

Default listen to your heart

Hi. I am a mom of 3 boys....my husband and I didn't wait at all. Although we love our children dearly, we sometimes wish we had taken some time to be married and "alone" you know - now we can't have any alone time without getting a sitter (which a whole other problem) but I think that you should listen to your heart, not your wallet or whatever else might be holding you back if your hearts are saying yes. Just my opinion - hope it helps!

thanks mhk ......my heart tells me to wait. I wanna spend as much time with my husband while we are alone so there would not be any regrets later on.

I think that you will know when the right time is. I have been married almost 7 yrs and my son is 3 1/2 yrs. I think I shouldn't have waited that long but it's not that I didn't want to have a baby but I couldn't. I had a hard time getting pregnant. You don't want to wait so long though. You still want to be young when you have your baby that way you can still have that energy that you need when you have a baby. Best of luck :-)

Cool no right time

To be honest I don't think there is a right time to have a baby. It seems like when you plan to have a baby something comes up whether it be financially or socially (relationship problems). I planned to have a son because I have two girls but how can I determined when is the right time. Just when it happens do what needs to be done to make it and let nature take its course.
My two girls were not planned at all and I was at the age of 22 when I had my first one. Just finished college (thank God) and had to find a job right away. It was hard but she is ten now and I thank God for her everyday. I said I would plan to have a son but just asking myself the same question when is the right time...and time is ticking...biological clock.
