Angry Need Help!! You guys are GREAT!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions for the bottle. My two year old has not had a bottle for two weeks. She is doing great.. Hoever I am 10 weeks pregnant and getting frustrated.. we have gotten her off the bottle but now she wants to sleep in the bed with me and my husband. I cannot get her to sleep in her bed or when I do get her in her bed I cannot get her to STAY in her bed.. Its annoying because I know Im going to have a new baby soon and i am really going to need her to sleep in her own bed... *sigh* HELP!!!

Jred,

I'm glad all worked out for 2-year-old!

Does the little one have a favorite toy or stuffed animal she likes? I went through this with my daughter when she was little... you aren't wrong! Once kids start jumping in the bed w/mom & dad, they get used to it and it's harder and harder to break them out of it.

You must stop her from getting in the bed with you and your husband ASAP! She thinks that is where she is SUPPOSED to sleep and she won't stop.

Explain to her that her room and bed is for her to sleep in. Tell her she's a big girl now... she drinks from her sippy cup and now she sleeps in her OWN bed.
Read her some bedtime stories. Let her "wear herself out" during the day... let her play, so that when night time comes, she'll be so worn out, she won't make a fuss about it! LOL!

After she gets her bath (oh, I hear lavender is a calming fragance, good for sleepy time!) read her a story and have her favorite toys and/or stuffed animals there. Let them "sit" around like they're enjoying the book too!

I hope this helps.

You could always try this...but it requires alot of pacience and you need to stick at it without giving in. It's Super Nanny's bed time method.

Put the child to bed before you go to bed (with my experience with my Fience's 5 yearold sister this can take over half an hour or almost an hour to do so make sure you've got that time free), read her a story or whatever as you normaly would then leave her room. If/when she gets out of bed, take her by the hand, put her back into bed and say "it's time to sleep now, this is your bed" then leave the room again. If she gets up again, do the same thing, take her by the hand, put her in bed and say "it's bed time" or "this is your bed" if she gets up yet again do the same thing as before "this is your bed" BUT only after those times if she gets up AGAIN just take her to bed without saying anything AT ALL - don't even look at her and keep doing that for as long as it takes, eventualy she'll stay in bed.

I also had to do that with my daughter!
She got the message after MANY tries! LOL
