you don't have to - i did. and would again. the key here is the word, "analogy." i didn't use it as an "example." i used it as an analogy.

not really. the "terror" i went off on was to illustrate how people are mislead - and we use media that appeals to children to further spread those ideals & get them entrenched early.

the nazi's did this. i think you & others might be getting hung up on the details of the holocaust, understandably. but if you can get past that & consider that my point is not to compare the two - but to illustrate the analogous relationship. both situations display a very methodical, systematic conditioning of behavior.

i talk about the USA because that's where i live. sex trade goes on everywhere - but i try not to talk about things with which i'm not very familiar. and living in another country & experiencing that culture is something i've not done.

so i confine my criticisms to the US. and i have to say, they're well deserved. i love this country & wouldn't choose any other to make my home.

but the fact that we will pay so much to do such blatantly abusive things to children is convicting.

i'm not sure what your intention is here. do you doubt that this goes on? it's an easy fact to validate. i'm not making it up.

but i would think that understanding it to be true - and seeing the relationship between this phenomenon & a porn-soaked culture would make it more difficult to tolerate, much less ignore, the epidemic of pornography in our society.

I opened an account on Miss Bimbo to see was it is really about and it is a tad addicting. I just want to level up as fast as possible and the added bonuses of getting to buy clothes and put cute outfits together is cool. It is okay in some aspects. It wants you to stay at 127 pounds and is clear that it is bad to go under that. It does however promote diet pills which I don't like. Another decent thing is that you have to do games that actually make you think to gain IQ points such as play suduko or mastermind (two of my favorite games!) Other downfalls are that your boyfriend pays you daily (prostitution?) and so far I can only have a job as a baker or a cosmetologist no lawyers, doctors etc.

The other neat things are you can go to the library to get IQ too. And you have the option of getting a gym membership and working out instead of using diet pills. You also have to remember to feed your bimbo everyday and food is expensive so its easy to just give her a candy bar instead of vegetables but I imagine you'd gain weight that way...

All in all miss bimbo probably shouldn't be marketed for elementary school age children but older kids who understand that the game is not real then there probably isn't a problem...I will probably play on my account for a little while longer until I can't level up easy anymore...

Oh and on a side note you have the option of using real money to buy bimbo dollars so if your young'uns start playing make sure they don't borrow your credit card to go buy bimbo money...

Oops, I forgot to mention that if you are looking for a safe and decent online game for kids check out webkinz or neopets. My little cousins do both and it is a lot better than this site in my opinion. Plus it is VERY children friendly because it is meant for young kids!

Isn't this game already out there? SIMS ring a bell. Granted, SIMS doesnt endorse diet pills and the like and does not have a derogatory name for women but same principal applies. Would much rather have my children play SIMS than accept the term Bimbo.

Conditioning over time has let people accept the sex sells attitude regardless of the sex thats being used to sell. People are just numb to it anymore. I saw something the other night that actually made me angry enough to respond. Disney...yes, that kids orientated establishment...has a new line of underwear and bras out. They sport the disney emblem on the front of the crotch and on each cup of the bra. Now, this would be ok as there are all those lil cotton undies out there with hannah montana or high school musical on them. Come in a bag of like six pairs and we usually only see them on the lil girl that gets all fidgety in her dress cuz shes bored and flips it up...oops. No, these new sets are being advertised like a victoria secrete commercial with the models being 10 to 16 years old. No kidding, the commercial had them walking a runway and cut scenes to two young girls frolicking together with a beach ball in their underwear and one young girl lying on a white sheet looking up at the camera while she moved around into different positions for the best shot of the logo. Canceled my disney channel subscription. Unfortunately, I took some of my frustration with this stuff out on the phone operator for the cable company.

Tired of our young girls examples growing up on tv one minute cute and fun and the next minute posing for vanity fair in a towel or the secrete sex tape released. No, not saying it doesnt happen with boys either but its just not a prevalent. At the same time, I dont think that Cosmo should have 18 year old Hayden Panatera on its cover. Not that shes not growing up but shes not really a grown up either. To have a teen telling her story of just graduating from high school represent womens issues just doesnt seem right.

I agree that parents should be the ones teaching their children but facts are, there are also so many outside influences as well. Parents can be good examples of strong, independent, just say no types but our kids are still faced with peer pressure and advertising everywhere. Not just on television. Society on a whole has just got way to accepting of it.

Anyways, Neopets is amazing and definitely kid-friendly. I have been on that site forEVER and when I'm bored and just want a simple flash game to play: Neopets. It's not something you have to check every day (your "pets" will never die) and it's a lot of fun pointed towards elementary and middle-school-aged kids (which I was when I signed up and used it often.) It's like Pokémon for free.
I haven't watched American television in a LONG time. Back when I was watching the Disney channel, it was Lizzie McGuire and her clothes covered from her collarbone to her knees at least. I only watch Latino TV and HBO these days. Latino kids' shows are actually kids' shows still. It's a novel concept.

Like the neopets myself. Both of my kids have critters there. Lots for them to do. Would definately recomend it for kids and adults. Some neat games and such.

Miss Bimbo - havent checked this site out but if im correct -obviously not sure - its a UK site ? . I have seen the two young guys who run this site being interview in an attempt to justify it, parents have been complaining . If im correct and this is the British site ...i just think , its girls young girls its aimed at, playing barbie , but on computer and not a big deal . I remember having "girls world" dolls head lifesize when i was a young girl , it came complete with makeup and you placed it on the plastic head of the doll and dressed the hair ..i had hours of fun ...i also used to take mums high heels and petend i was grown up ...i think most young girls do this ...my brother played on the scalectric motor set ...

I dont think there is much difference ...except its online and the times have moved on but these things do need to be monitored !
