I'm 16 going on 17 and terrified that i might be pregnant. i have informed my boyfriend and a few, trustworthy close friends know. I have done some research concerning signs of pregnancy and i have experienced several things they list. i have been experiencing a need to eat massive amounts of food, sleep frequently, i get dizzy at times, and i have found that i have sporadic nausea, never in the morning, usually in the evenings or afternoon. i have also developed a sore back and breasts along with throat, i have been slightly more moody than normal... but could puberty be causing this instead of being pregnant?
someone please help.. I'm so lost... |

I'm assuming you had unprotected sex and have missed your period?

Before you worry yourself anymore or make any assumptions, buy a pregnancy test and it would be a great idea if its negative to get nsome condoms too. But if you are not pregnant and you feel compelled to eat and you are feeling ill afterwards or there is something worrying you ,please see somebody that can help. Best wishes. |

Why not just take a pregnancy test??? My friends and I use to all do it together when we were in high school. Whenever one of us thought they might need to make sure, our whole group would take them together to comfort the friend taking it. Also it makes it easier to buy when you're in a group if you're embarrassed or don't want people to think it's for you. Other than that I don't see why so many people try to self diagnose pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms are common to a lot of other symptoms of different causes.
Usually I would wait about a month of the date when you had unprotected sex (or however the situation may have happened) and then use the test. Usually you have to wait I believe at least two weeks after or before your missed period before it can give you an "accurate" reading. I say "accurate" because they aren't 100% but they work extremely well. I haven't taken one in a while so just make sure you read the instructions. They're pretty cheap and sell them almost everywhere. And from my experience that fancier and pricier they are doesn't make the darnest difference, they all do the same thing. Let us know how it goes |

Just take a test. Planned Parenthood and other clinics do offer free pregnancy testing. You will just have to find one in your area. It's also confidential so they cannot tell your parents. And if you are pregnant they can also provide counsling, and if your not they may be able to provide you with free contraception. Just get it done quick so that way you can consider all the options and help that is available to you and the many other young girls that are in the same situation. Good luck...
