Default Effects of too much sugar?

I feel silly admitting it, but even being in my 20s, my sweet tooth is still as strong as it was when I was 5, lol. I can't resist candy, but I try to replace it with fruit and juice as often as possible. I'm a big fruit lover, sometimes I don't even have an appetite for anything but fruit.

I haven't experienced any direct effects from it, and my teeth haven't suffered or anything. But I'm wondering if there's any long term affects I should be worrying about. I don't really know anything about diabetes or different kinds of sugar or anything.

Is anybody else have a serious sweet tooth? lol.

Try eating slower releasing foods little and often throughout the day to keep your energy levels steady : )

I have a chocolate tooth more than a sweet tooth. Sugar can essentially shut off or slow your immune system for 30 mins or so, interfers with the healing process. Causes a quick energy spike and then you crash and probably want more sugar. That's why the slower release of fruits or veggies is better.

I've had to do elimination diets a few times for sensitivities, here's the deal- remove ALL sweets from your diet (no juices -too concentrated) this includes artificial sweetners (tons of reasons to stay away from those anyway). You'll really miss it for 4 days and then the craving should stop, you'll start to lose your taste for it and find anything sweeter than fruit just too sweet.
