Default How to get Vitam D

Hi

I need some help from you guys.

Doctor tells me i need vitamin D for my joints

After some study on the net i find that it comes from the sun or camel milk.

Can any one tell me if it is available from any of the stores or any other way of getting it?

Thanks

There is a full spectrum light (OttŪ Light) that you can buy and look into for 15 minutes a day. I think you can get Vitamin D along with the rest of the vitamins at the store. I've also read that 15 minutes of direct sunlight a day is the most common way to get it.

I am brand new here (hello all) but you can get Vitamin D in tablet/pill form in any shop which sells vitamins.
Did your doctor tell you how much you should take? The reason I ask is because my doctor also recommended I take Vitamin D but did blood work first and then put me on 2000mg a day.
Please call and find out for sure how many milligrams you should take before you buy any since too much can be toxic!
Good luck!

According to the Wiki on Vitamin D:

Natural sources of vitamin D include:

Exposure to sunlight
Fish liver oils, such as cod liver oil
Fatty fish species, such as:
Herring
Catfish
Salmon
Mackerel
Sardines, canned in oil
Tuna, canned in oil
Eel
Egg (whole)
Beef liver, cooked
UV-irradiated mushrooms (Vitamin D2)

It also says:
Quote:
The exact long-term safe dose of vitamin D is not known. [...] A 2007 risk assessment suggested that 250 micrograms/day (10,000 IU) in healthy adults should be adopted as the tolerable upper limit. In adults, sustained intake of 2500 micrograms/day (100,000 IU) can produce toxicity within a few months.
