Technically the gas is a sign things are working as they should, even the bacteria need to 'fart' lol. Unfortunately enough of their farts lead to our side effect, gas. If you eat a pound of broccoli sure you will get a ton of nutritional value but you will also get an audible, and stench producing release of gas. It is just the way things happen.

Try experimenting with different foods like everyone says, no matter what you will always have gas but you can try to minimize the effect it produces. Cleaning your colon will help with a fresh start but it will not stop gas from being produced. It all has to do with the bacteria in your GI tract.

    Default Beano is NOT vegetarian

    Hello,

I know this post is old but I wanted to mention that Beano is NOT vegetarian or vegan, it contains GELATIN, which is an animal product. I am a vegetarian who takes a lot of vitamins and one thing I had to thoroughly research was ingredients to make sure there were no animal ones included, namely gelatin, any fish oils, stearic acid, and magnesium stearate (the stearics are usually animal-based, some are from cats and dogs who are euthanized!).

Please read the labels of your supplements carefully and do research as well. I had no idea how manufacturers can sneak in animal products until I learned about this practice. All supplements I take are clearly stated as either vegan or vegetarian on the label. If unsure, contact the company.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
    Best wishes!

I've been a vegetarian for several years and don't have any problems of unusual gas from my diet. Its probably more to do with the cleanse that you are taking or if you are eating a heavy amount of beans maybe? I eat lots of tofu and veggies and whole grains, fruits, some beans, some cheeses, mock meat products, and so many other things. Its important to have a big variety in your diet , especially as a vegetarian, keeping an eye to not over do on carbs and to also make sure you are getting enough protein, vitamins and minerals.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
