Good luck. I should try that too, shouldn't I?
Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking around this site for a month now and finally decided to start the Whey/Protein Diet. I was a little skeptical reading some of the posts where women were losing 7 to 15 lbs a week. I started the diet on 8/3 right after returning from a two week vacation and I am truly amazed. I said I was'nt going to weigh myself until the end of the week but could'nt resist....so far I have lost....drum rolll........7lbs!!!!. Can this be true...I said after I got on the scale this morning. I weighed myself 4 times because I could'nt beleive it. I have two shakes everyday one for breakfast and one for lunch with fruit and soy joy bars. I go home everyday and eat a 300 calorie dinner with salad. The shakes really curb my hunger and I love the taste. I mix vanilla/chocolate soy milk with a scoop of whey protein....yummy!!!! I even have a couple of 100 calorie snacks if I get hungry. I really regret not working out along with this....probably could have lost more. I also have a couple of rules to try amd stick to.....#1. Drink lots of water and #2. I try really hard not to eat after 8:00pm. I'm really looking forward to getting thru next week to see the results. Beginning weight: 190lbs....down 7lbs to 183.
Good luck. I should try that too, shouldn't I?

300 calories for dinner? A dietitian would cringe over this, that's sending yourself to being bulimic seriously...
2500 a day is keeping the weight where it is at.....
300 in my opinion is bordering, passing out..
You missed exercise, a vital part of all of this....
Please don't even think of doing this ladies, it will send you to hospital in my opinion.

I think it all depends on how many calories are in the protein shakes. If she drinks two of those a day, plus a couple 100 calorie snacks, plus a 300 cal dinner..... that doesn't sound too bad I don't think calorie-wise.
My biggest concern with this diet would be ensuring getting the proper nutrients of all food groups. Too much protein can be damaging to the kidneys. And in women, (you can look this up online) there is a recommended daily protein intake, anything above that is basically wasted.
And, I agree with CW, exercise is vital. I'm not a fan of "diets" as I think we should enjoy things in moderation but not starve ourselves of things we really want. Granted, I turn down glazed donuts almost every time and nearly salivate while doing so... but every now and then I treat myself. Anyhow, a "diet" will only get you so far. Exercise is what gets you where you want to be.
It also depends on her height and age. I for one require about 1,200 calories a day, but when I wanted to get slimmer fast, I just consumed a little over 900/day, which makes up 300 every meal, and some few additional calories in-between with almonds.
I didn't go for shakes, I just had real organic whole food and a couple of workouts.
